  • Are your sitters and nanny candidates pre-screened?

Yes, each of our sitter and nanny candidates are virtually interviewed with a Sitter Connect Owner, must have 2-3 stellar caregiving references verified via phone, a clear background on the Connecticut criminal convictions and pending convictions, and clear on the National Sex Offender list prior to joining our team as a Sitter Connect sitter or nanny. We pride ourselves in providing the best quality care and reliable sitters for our families! Please also refer to the Safety section of our website under our Resources tab to learn more.
  • Do your sitters have any certifications (i.e. CPR, Lifeguard, etc.)?

Yes, many of our sitters do have various certifications such as CPR, Lifeguard, First Aid, Medication Administration EpiPen, etc. We will provide the specific sitter/nanny certifications when presenting candidates to each family as well as additional information regarding their location, experience, qualifications, education, etc.
  • How do I become an approved family with Sitter Connect?

You can become an approved family of ours by completing the form under the Get Started as a Family page of our website. Once we have reviewed your inquiry and one of our Sitter Connect Owners has contacted you to discuss your caregiving needs and learn more about your family. We will obtain all names of family members in the home and ensure any adult in the home has a clear background on the Connecticut criminal convictions and pending convictions, as well as the National Sex Offender registry.
  • How do I match with a sitter or nanny through your service?

After becoming an approved family, one of the Sitter Connect Owners will match your family with sitters or a nanny that meets your specific caregiving qualifications. We will text or email you the full sitter/nanny details to review and help coordinate a meet and greet with the specific candidate to ensure it is a fit for both the family and the sitter/nanny.
  • Can I book a sitter directly for occasional needs (i.e. texting a sitter)?

Yes, once you have become a family of ours and pay the appropriate annual membership fee applicable for your need, we will provide you with sitters that are interested in helping your family. We will assist in coordinating any meet and greets prior to a sitting and providing the family with their contact information. If you have a specific date that you are in need of a sitter and the sitters you are connected with are not available, you contact contact the Sitter Connect Owners via text or email to help coordinate an alternate sitter for your specific need.
  • Can I pay a sitter/nanny through your website?

You can pay your sitter directly through their preferred method at their agreed upon rate. We do not take a percentage of sitter/nanny pay or accept payments for a sitter/nanny through our website. As a family you only pay the applicable annual fee for your specific need.
  • Can I meet a sitter prior to using them for sitting needs?

Yes! We encourage every family to have a meet and greet with a sitter. This is a great way to get to know your caregiver as well as ensure they are a great fit with your family. During our matching process we will help you schedule this with your matched sitter!
  • Do all sitters/nannies have comfortability with pets?

As part of our sitter vetting process we ensure that our sitters have experience or are comfortable being around household pets. During the matching process with our families we will ensure to present a sitter/nanny that is comfortable around household pets (i.e. no allergies to their specific pet) if a family has any pets in the home.
  • What are the rates of your sitters/nannies?

The rates of our sitters/nannies vary depending on experience level, number of children, ages of children and travel accommodations if applicable. On average the rate of our sitters is approximately $20-25/hour for 1 child. We connect with each family prior to matching you with a sitter or nanny and learn more on a family’s hourly rate budget, needs of the children and expectations.
